Over the past two years the Funktion have fast become the most talked about party band in the North East. In a short period of time the band have quickly become a very popular wedding act, and have played such events such as Middlesbrough Music Live, Stockton Fringe Festival, the Middlesbrough Riverside stadium and many more.
The Funktion are the perfect band for any occasion and are available for corporate events, parties, weddings, tours or any occasion where quality live music is required. No event is too big or too small.
The band performs classic Motown, soul and funk hits as well as modern favourites. Each song the band performs is dynamic & exciting, and as the songs are all dance floor smash hits, you are guaranteed to hear your all time favourite songs all night long.

After three great years together The Funktion have sadly decided to call it a day. We have had some great times over the past
three years, and would like to thank all those who have supported us.
The funk must live on however, and three members of the band will be continuing in a new outfit 'The Funk Collective'. More details
will follow on the website soon about this.
In the meantime though the Funktion will continue gigging until the end of February, so make sure you get down to see us as this
will be your last chance to see the North East funk machines in full flow! Please check the 'gigs' section for details.
The Funktion
As a warmup to our slot at this years Stockton Festival, the Funktion are putting on a special night at The Georgian Theatre in Stockton
on Friday 17th June. We will be appearing for the very first time with a live brass section and will be performing some of our old
favourites, along with a few surprises. Tickets are £4 advance or £6 on the door, click the banner below for more details.
This will also be the farewell gig for our drummer Mark 'Big Funk' Rayner, as he will be in London for the next year bringing funk
to the masses. We all wish Rayner the best, and in the meantime we are glad to welcome Ste Sudlow to the Funktion. See you all soon!
We are pleased to say that our inimitable frontman has now returned from his travels and the Funktion are back to the original lineup.
Our first public appearance is going to be at Dr. Browns on Friday 29th April, we hope you all can make it. We are currently rehearsing
a whole new set for the coming gigs, as well as a couple of other suprises. See you all on the 29th for a funk filled night!
Unfortunately we have had to cancel our gig at Dr.Browns on Saturday 11th December. We apologise to all our fans who were coming
down, this is one of our favourite gigs and we will make it up to everyone the next time we play there.
December is a busy month for us and our diary is mostly booked with private parties and functions, so you may not have many chances
to see us before the New Year. Make sure you catch us at The Keys nightclub on Wednesday 22nd December, this will be a great night.
